About MasonryCalc

Who We Are

MasonryCalc is a free collection of construction material calculators built for people who work with materials every day — and for homeowners tackling their first big project.

We built MasonryCalc because existing calculator tools were either too basic, showed results in only one unit system, or buried the numbers you actually need behind confusing interfaces. A builder on a job site needs the right answer fast — not a lesson in mathematics. Every calculator on MasonryCalc is designed around one goal: give you the number you need to call your supplier with confidence.

What Makes Us Different

Imperial AND Metric
Every calculator supports both unit systems. Switch instantly — no separate calculators needed. Results reflect how materials are actually sold in your region.

Regional Bag Sizes
Concrete bags in the US come in 40, 60 and 80 lb. In Australia it's 20 kg. In the UK it's 25 kg. Our calculators know the difference and show results accordingly.

The Right Sand for the Job
Concrete needs sharp sand. Mortar needs soft sand. Screed needs grit sand. We tell you exactly what to ask for at your local supplier, including regional names.

No Sign-Up. No Ads in Results.
Every calculator is completely free to use. No account required, no email address, no paywalls.

Our Calculators

We currently offer eight free calculators covering the most common construction and landscaping material calculations:

New calculators are added regularly. If you need a calculator that isn't listed, use the contact form to suggest it.

A Note on Accuracy

All calculations are estimates based on standard material densities and industry-accepted formulas. Actual quantities will vary depending on site conditions, material variability, moisture content and wastage.

We always recommend:

  • Adding 10% to any calculated quantity as a safety margin
  • Confirming quantities with your supplier before placing large orders
  • Consulting a structural engineer or qualified professional for load-bearing or structural work

MasonryCalc is a planning and estimation tool. It is not a substitute for professional advice.
